Restrained fearful Choas.
This isnt a really contemporary post just something I've wished to selfishly express my feelings about.
Because I live in the UK there is a lot less pressure to join organised religion that I'm given to understand in the USA or the Middle East (quite ironic to have them in the same category), and obviously people are split into categories of athiest, agnostic yada yada.
Religion is obviously a fascinating insight into unscripted human behaviour, as back in the times when these sort of religions came together there wasnt really a conformity, in fact there was mostly chaos and fear. Its my own personal opinion that whoever came up with the idea of getting all the robbers, bandits, murderers and the blokes sleeping with thier wives to be terrified of a big bloke in the sky with a beard is nothing short of a genius, the whole idea is a clever check on human nature by making them humbled and second class inviduals under a higher power which limits there ambitions and of course, mankind fears what they can't understand.
As mankind had just about mastered the art of brick houses they were exactly massively understanding of most of the things around them so its clear this would of played out well, but my thinking earlier today is this. This book was written alledgedly by a ominipotent, omnipresent and whatever else figure who knows best, but if it was'nt, arn't you just listening to the advice of a much less developed civilisation?
At this point I'm waiting for the bolts of lighting to come flying through my window. I'm sure someone with a large hat and a better knowledge of religion would be able to explain this to me but how did the 4 blokes who wrote the Bible know all that, or did an angel sit behind him and read what he wanted put? because the bible screams the complicated contradictions that only idealistic human nature can achieve. I suppose I might die and not go to heaven and the christains have piss on me from the clouds having a good old laugh but I'd prefer to bet a sure thing.
Any person you look at on the street is capable of so many things, even if you write them off as just another person you see in the street, and its a fact of life that everything we feel, think, love, desire is merely chemical reactions or imbalances in our head. that fact alone has always haunted me somewhat because it makes us sound like moving biological science apparatus, which in a way, we are. its true that Religion doesnt play such a big part anymore in instilling moral guidance to every single person, but I believe the true message of religion has been distorted over man years of people using as an excuse to do what they wish (manifest destiny, the crusades, blah blah) which is ironic because thats the very thing I believe it was created to stop, once again human natures complicated contradictions have got round morality.
We really are little bastards, but then again I'm making a mistake in my message here I'm not really rooting for the moral side of things, I personally believe a little disruption and unpredictability is good for the universe, there's oportunity is Chaos. and everyone whos ever just watched the news for a big accident or terrorist attack is exactly the same.Terrorist attack being an interesting point because its another use of religion for the excuse for a selfish message, Especaily as I particularily dislike the way muslims are given a shit deal because 1% genuinly believe that blowing themselves up and taking a few of the 'enemy' with them is a good thing, even if 'the enemy' happens to be old babs who had saddled up the zimmerframe to get the bus to sainsburys. At least in the case of the (P)IRA they were fighting a 'for the people' Psuedo Guerrilla war so they only targetted people who had some degree of protection (RUC officers, Politicians) or had to actually choose to be in the firing line (car thieves, touts)
But fuck it, we are a species and we arn't perfect and when we properly start fucking things up the planet will get rid of us anyway, thats the way the constant and apathetic universe works. thats if old beardilocks doesnt jump of Zues's chair and start chucking lightning bolts down cause weve been very naughty little children.
